Global Trade Consultants, Inc. provides our clients with the most up to date information about the importation & exportation process. The U.S. Government regulations regarding importation & exportation are changing constantly. Several new regulations regarding importation went into effect this year such as the (10+2) or ISF (Importer Security Filing) for all ocean importation shipments, full compliance will occur on January 26, 2010; very high fines (up to $5,000 to $10,000 fine for a single shipment).
Another importation regulation which went into effect this year was the Lacey Act; the Lacey Act requires the Importer to identify the species of wood used to manufacture certain wood products.
